Wearing all types of orthodontic braces, aligners or splints requires a certain period of adjustment. In the beginning you can feel mild discomfort accompanied by an increased production of saliva. These symptoms usually subside within a few days. Since Six Month Smiles system applies milder forces on the teeth, the sensation is much more comfortable than with conventional orthodontic therapy.
Will my teeth remain straight after the therapy?
To keep the teeth in a wanted position, after every type of orthodontic therapy, including the 6 Month Smiles therapy, it is recommended to wear a retainer. Fixed retainer is placed on the back surface of front teeth, it is not visible during laughing or talking, and thanks to its special shape and smoothness it does not hinder speech or chewing. Apart from fixed, there is also mobile retainer which is worn at night 3 to 5 times a week.
What is the procedure of making Six Month Smiles braces?
During your first free appointment and consultations we will analyse your smile and determine what makes you unhappy and what would you like to change.
During the next visit we will take an impression of your teeth and send it to a laboratory where Six Month Smiles experts will make individual brackets for you.
After fitting the braces, regular check-ups are done once a month until the end of treatment.
